The Center attempts to provide a broad and lively program of events that deal with the issues of suburban growth and development.
It takes a special focus on issues emerging in Inland Southern California, where Riverside and San Bernardino counties form the
largest, fast-growing edge community in the United States.
Early every year, the Center hosts its Conference
on the Suburbs. The conference brings in speakers from
around the country to discuss an issue central to the suburban
experience. The conference draws a wide audience from both
the public and private sectors, with many planners, consultants,
developers, elected officials and their staff, as well as
interested members of the public.
From January through June and September through November, the
Center also holds the
Randall Lewis Seminar Series. On the third Thursday of the month, speakers take on regional
topics such as air quality, infrastructure planning, the fiscal health of cities and affordable housing. The events
run begin at 5:30 in the afternoon and, with questions, answers, a chance to meet the speakers and food, run through
about 7:30 or 8 p.m.
Keep an eye on this space for more events.
The increasing interest in the suburbs and their development has led to an active calendar of conferences, public meetings and seminars. If you are aware of any events that should be listed in our calendar, please contact
