Purpose of the Survey The purpose of this survey of Riverside County
residents is to amass social, demographic and public opinion data to
document and assess the concerns and needs of the county’s residents.
The survey is also intended to assess the awareness and interest of
residents on issues of economic development, growth, environmental
protection and other policy-oriented concerns. |


UCR Associate Professor Dr. Martin Johnson (right),
discussed survey results with Riverside County elected and appointed officials,
other government representatives, educators, transportation officials and
business and professional leaders at meetings held in Riverside and Palm Desert.


Roy Wilson (left), Chairman of the Riverside County
Board of Supervisors, welcomed attendees. Commenting on the survey's public
policy implications at the Riverside meeting were (seated, at right) Chuck
Washington, Chair, Western Riverside Council of Governments; John Wohlmuth,
Executive Director, Coachella Valley Association of Governments; and Borre
Winckel, Executive Office of the Building Industry Association, Riverside. Gary
Christmas, (at podium) Deputy County Executive Officer, served as moderator at
both meetings.
