A Conversation with Ashley Swearengin: Innovation in Regional Policymaking

Please join us for a conversation with Ashley Swearengin, recipient of the Policy Innovator Award from the UCR School of Public Policy.

Ashley Swearengin is president and CEO of the Central Valley Community Foundation, which serves the six counties of Central California and has provided over $100 million in funding to over 650 community organizations over the last decade.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Swearengin served as mayor of Fresno from 2009 through 2016, where she played a leadership role in promoting transit-oriented development and green energy projects, as well as addressing chronic homelessness and stabilizing the city’s financial position. She is also credited with boosting significant private and public investment in the city, working with Republicans and Democrats alike.
